Terroirs

Soils: Clay and limestons, with fossiles from jurassique area. We find beautiful oyster and other sea animal fossiles on the property parcels. Some are displayed in the winery, please visit the website photo gallery to view some samples.

Vineyard: Well maintained and upkept, our vineyard is farmed sustainably with respect to the environment. We use cover crop and grass to control weeds, to prevent erosion and to enrich our soils with nitrogen and other important nutrients. The result is a beautiful environment friendly vineyard with yields purposefully kept low to ensure a quality wine.

Microclimat: The nearby Loire river provides protection against morning frost in the Spring; and creates a morning fog that cools down the vineyard in the Summer. The vineyards are primarly South-East facing which provides optimal sun exposure. All these weather conditions allow our fruit to ripen beautifully.

Wine Making

Our wine making process is designed to allow the terroir to express itself: the must racking and fermtentation process are done at cold temperatures and followed by a controlled lees aging process.
